Welcome to your athletic union. My name is Ben Turner and I am the Athletic Union President. I welcome you to your new and improved AU website. My job is to represent all students here at Cardiff especially the views of all the members of the Athletic Union .
At the A.U. we support our 59 clubs structurally and financially. We are proud of the diverse range we have to offer Cardiff students covering just about anyone's needs. Year after year our clubs produce outstanding results and continue to represent Cardiff University in a positive light through their commitment to sport.
As with all other universities Cardiff competes in the busa leagues, where we were placed 16th in the UK in 2007. – and 7th when excluding unis that study sport.
Becoming active members of the AU clubs is easy and is more than just a fun way of keeping fit, it is a fantastic chance to meet students with similar interests and make friendships that will last a lifetime, and most of all, enrich your experience at Cardiff University.
Committee Training and Support
Holds advice on how clubs and committees run in conjunction with AU policy and methods of administration, sponsorship, training sessions, how to write a report for the Gair Rhydd the student newspaper and other useful information.
AU Events
Throughout the year the AU hosts many events. These include the Sports Fayre, the AU Auction, the Fun Run, the AU Awards, and the Varsity.
IMG
The AU offers more than just the high performance based activities in its clubs it also houses the Intra Mural Games, or IMG league where students of all abilities can represent their school or compete with groups of friends. We host a variety of IMG Leagues, there is popular netball, touch rugby and football leagues with over 70 teams competing every Wednesday. Click here for more info

Latest news, achievements, club events, Fundraisers, socials, league tables, campaigns The students at Cardiff believe that the sports facility provision at Cardiff is below standard to cater for the modern student and though the INVEST IN SPORT campaign we at Cardiff Students Union are fighting to increase facility provision and make sport part of a long term strategy for the University.

The, University run, Sport and Exercise department responsibilities are the management of University sports facilities, and support the high level athletes through their sports bursary programme.
