Love cake? Master in the kitchen? Consumed by GBBO fever? Enjoy the occasional cocktail night? Baking Society is the one for you!
We meet once a fortnight on a Monday evening for a bake-off-style competition. Before each meeting, we will announce a theme (e.g. Halloween or bread week). You then bake something related on your own or as a team, and bring it along on the evening. Everyone tries all the bakes and votes for their favorite and at the end, three spoons are awarded, including the prestigious golden spoon.
We also run other monthly events such as coffee and cake mornings, bar & cocktail nights, themed socials, bake-alongs and (new for 2024) baking classes!
Here is a taste of the things we do throughout the year. There is plenty to get your teeth stuck into!
Everyone's welcome, whether you're a complete novice or an avid baker, and everyone comes from a variety of backgrounds and baking abilities. It's a great place to meet new people, taste new recipes, and improve your skills!
