Adam's role is to oversee all of the 150 societies which the Students’ Union has to offer. These range from religious groups, cultural and course-based groups, to international and performance groups. It’s Adam’s responsibility to encourage the celebration of cultural diversity through events such as the week-long Go Global festival held within the Students’ Union for the entire student body. If you want to join a society, set one up, or if you’re already running one, Adam is the person you need to speak to.
Introducing Adam
I’ve recently completed my BA in Religious Studies and Theology here at Cardiff University. Having been heavily involved with student societies during my studies, I’m looking forward to drawing on my experience in my new role in order to improve awareness and engagement with societies across the student population.
Adam's Objectives
I’m hoping to develop the charitable work which many of the societies here at Cardiff already do, to ensure that each society can play an effective role individually. As a whole, through their combined efforts, this will mean that we will be able to raise and give more to charity. I will also be working to develop the International Freshers Welcome Week, particularly through getting more societies involved, in order to make sure that new students feel at home here in Cardiff and are aware of all of the incredible things they can get involved with here. Finally, I will be developing the Dusk ‘til Dawn summer ball to ensure that not only do we run a cost-effective event, but that it’s one which every Cardiff student wants to go to.
