Hannah’s role was established with the aim of improving the University experience of Healthcare students through enhancing their facilities and access to services, both at the Heath Park Campus and at the main Students’ Union building. Hannah represents all Healthcare students at an academic, social and welfare level. She will sit on councils with the Heads of Schools; provide the University with your feedback; have regular meetings with your sports and society committee members, and help to organise events specifically for Healthcare students.
Introducing Hannah
I’ve just graduated from the school of Healthcare Studies with a BSc Hons in Physiotherapy. As a result of my experience as a Healthcare student, I have a good understanding of what it’s like to be based up at the Heath Park campus. Within my role, I hope to improve the Healthcare student experience here at Cardiff, by developing the facilities and communication channels at the Heath Park Campus and by promoting healthcare involvement in Union activities.
Hannah’s Objectives
My main aim for this year is to work to improve the integration of Healthcare students with the wider student body at Cardiff University and ultimately enhance their student experience.
In order to improve communication of Union and University services and events to Healthcare students, I intend to increase the Heath Hub’s accessibility and work with the Marketing Department at the Students’ Union to improve advertising. I hope to conduct research into the student placement experience with a view to developing techniques to improve student awareness, engagement and satisfaction. I also have plans for a healthcare promotion campaign which will provide opportunities to Healthcare students across Park Place to showcase their skills to the wider student community at Cardiff. Finally, I will be continuing to develop the Freshers experience of the March intake Nursing students through a host of events aimed at promoting activity, engagement and involvement.
